TENDENCIES

Easily absorbs oils and other liquids and is highly susceptible to other types of staining situations...These stones usually have cavities/voids and a large pore structure allowing them to catch and hold dirt and soiling debris...Generally not affected by weak acids, however, concentrated acids which are found in some household cleaning products may etch a polished surface.

COLORS

Tans to creamy buffs and pastel pinkish tones.

FINISHES

Rough Saw Finish...Honed-Satin Finish...Some types will take a Polish.

NOTATIONS

Highly recommended to treat with a oil repellent where foods will be present and in a general purpose areas with a water repellent.

Cantera means "quarry" in Spanish, and Adoquin is a particular type of Cantera stone,
generally harder and rougher in appearance than regular Cantera stone.

Geologically these stones are consolidated volcanic ash with a variety of secondary older
rock
materials from the surrounding area and laced with multi-colored pumice fragments.
